Ingredients:
 Peels of 3 Organic Oranges
 100 g Sugar
 100 ml Water
 50 ml Fresh Orange Juice
Instructions:
1

Wash oranges thoroughly with water. Pat dry using a kitchen towel.

2

Cut off the ends using a knife. Score the orange cutting just the skin.

Continue making vertical cuts around the orange cutting each section about 2-inch wide.

3

Remove the orange peel following the cut lines.

4

In a medium pot of boiling water, cook peel until slight tender, about 4-5 minutes.

5

Drain in a colander and toss a few times to remove any remaining water.

6

Remove white Pith part using knife or spoon from all the peels as that is quite bitter and would result in a bitter product.

7

Now cut your orange peel into smaller strips. I like to cut it small so that I can use the orange peel later directly for cakes and sweet, but you can cut the peel into longer strips too if you want.

8

Transfer the small stripes to a boiling water and again boil for few minutes.

9

Drain in a colander and toss a few times to remove any remaining water.

10

Now take a pan and add freshwater, Sugar and Fresh Orange juice to the orange peels and let them simmer slowly on a low flame, stirring occasionally.

11

Cook until the syrup thickens and the orange peels have become translucent. (Takes about 8-10 minutes)

12

Transfer the candied peels with the syrup to an airtight glass jar and cool to room temperature.

13

Cover and refrigerate.

14

These Candied peels will last for at least 6 months in the refrigerator.
