Fresh Coriander leaves mixed with peanuts, ginger, Green chillies and spices are blended in a mixer until smooth and there you have it – a Delicious Green Chutney. It is a great complement to India street food, but seems versatile enough to use with Khichdi and Rice too.

Pro Tip – If you add ice cubes while grinding this Green chutney, it gives prominant Green colour to your chutney.

I make this Green Chutney very often in my kitchen. And I always store it in a Glass jar, refrigerate and use up in the next two days. However nothing beats the aroma of the freshly ground chutney.

My family enjoys this chutney with nearly everything like Dhokla, Dhokla Cake, Aloo Paratha, Khichdi, plain cookies, rice and sandwiches.

Tips to make perfect Green Chutney

  • To make Perfect and aromatic Geen Chutney, make sure you use Gresh Coriander leaves.
  • Don’t throw away tender stem of Coriander leaves (Dhaniya) as it increases the volume of the Green Chutney and also has nutrients in it.
  • Use Peanuts, Dalia (Roasted chana dal) / Ganthiya / Sev / or any mixer you have at home to thicken the Green Chutney. They also prevent the chutney from turning watery overtime.
  • You can use guava skin, kachha aam skin in the green chutney which also increases the volume of the chutney and gives a flavour too.
